The narrow development site, an overgrown waste ground with a former life as stable and coach house accommodation for the surrounding houses, provided many challenges which were overcome with a radical but sensitive scheme.
The juxtaposition of the sleek design, projecting glass bay windows and rustic style of the handmade Reclamation Yellow Stock bricks successfully encapsulates the developmentās urban context.
The bricks were chosen by the developer for their ability to add an instantly established appearance to the new build properties, whilst offering a respectful nod to the surrounding area, built from original London Stock. The convenience of a standard metric size, along with the reclamation-style textured finish, offered the ideal solution for this project.
Reclaimed granite setts create a new cobbled frontage, accompanying the bricks to enhance the charm of the mews.
