The original property consisted of ill-matched extended areas, with the redesign now providing a coherent relationship between the original and extended areas, all set within the footprint of the original structures.
With a clear vision to improve the property layout, the design needed to be considerate and sensitive.
Achieving planning permission proved challenging for this project, but with the use of traditional materials such as handmade bricks, used to rebuild original walls as well as extended areas, lime mortar, traditional timber sash windows and Georgian-style design details, this was successfully achieved.
Originally meant to be painted white, the client chose to showcase the beautiful Soft Red brickwork instead.
